Fibre-cement boards are suitable for a wide range of applications, including the overcladding of existing buildings soffits and fascias, balcony panels, composite panels, filling panels, dormer cheeks etc.
The rainscreen cladding principle
With the energy saving measures required today, rear ventilated cladding systems are gaining an ever increasing economic importance for existing and new buildings.
A special characteristics of the rear ventilated cladding system is its guaranteeed performance. Efectiveness is maintained even when unfavourable internal or external athmospheric conditions are experienced.
System description:
When multiclad is used as part of a rainscreen cladding system, it is necessary to have a ventilated air gap behind the panels to prevent moisture being conducted to construction behind. Typically this gap should be a minimum of 30 mm. The air gap should be finished at the bottom with a perforated screen to keep out birds, and covered at the top with a flashing
Multiclad is manufactured from a mixture cement organic fibres fillers and water.
